Northwest Territories’ Nominee Program is called NTNP. The NTNP allows immigration aspirants with the talent and work background that is in-demand by the territory to obtain a Nomination Certificate.

The NTNP is of one Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), with three streams for workers, and an additional one for Entrepreneurs.

Choosing Northwest Territories Immigration

Northwest Territories, a federal territory located at the Northwest of Canada, has a little over 40,000 inhabitants. The territory’s economy relies on exploiting its raw material resources (natural gas and oil, diamonds, and gold). Yellowknife, the capital of the Northwest Territories, is the region’s nerve center for industry workers and a great enjoyable city to settle in for immigrants.

Apart from some federal programs, the territory has its own immigration streams. Only one of the NTNP streams is Express Entry aligned. Indeed, with a provincial nomination, the applicant will receive 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. This will right after leading the applicant to automatically obtain an invitation to apply (ITA) in the following Express Entry draw.

The rest of the streams are non-aligned Express Entry streams, there is no need to be in the pool. There are streams for Skilled Workers and International Graduates with job offers in the province, and for business entrepreneurs investing their money in the territory.
